The numbers speak for themselves. Underage smoking and vaping rates are at all-time lows.
Reynolds American Inc. and its operating companies (Reynolds) are encouraged by the continuous decline in underage smoking and vaping rates that have resulted from collective efforts to keep vapor and nicotine products out of the hands of youth.
From 2019 to 2023, past 30-day cigarette smoking among middle and high school students decreased.

From 2019 to 2023, past 30-day e-cigarette smoking (vapor products) usage among middle and high school students continued to decline.

10.1% of high school students reported that they used e-cigarettes (vapor products) in the past 30 days – down approximately 63% since 2019.
That said, we believe that parents, public health, legislators, and regulators – especially FDA – should be concerned about the continued influx of illegal disposable vapor products into the U.S. market. It is unacceptable that these products – which are flagrantly targeted at youth – continue to be sold.
